STAY UP TO DATE ON SHOWS

In May 1923, the Shreveport Times announced a new 2,500 seat opera house would be built at a cost of $750,000. Ground breaking on The Strand began in October 1923. After 19 months of construction, on July 3, 1925 the Strand Theatre opened with a production of the comic opera, The Chocolate Soldier.

The Strand offices have re-opened with full staff.

If you should come down to our offices, please be kind and wear a mask.  Our staff will greet you also wearing masks.  The box office is open and we ask that you maintain 6 feet of distance between parties should there be a line.

The Strand is routinely cleaning doorknobs and handles for all of our safety.

Season 36 announcement is scheduled for September.  We will update everyone as we have new information on shows, dates, and our ability to safely re-open the theatre.
